Police have charged a teenager in connection to hundreds of graffiti incidents in Calgary.

Police have charged a teenager in connection to hundreds of graffiti incidents in Calgary.

The 17-year-old male was arrested at his southeast school on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said he's suspected of having committed more than 100 separate acts of graffiti in various parts of Calgary, namely in the downtown core and deep southeast.

The arrest was made after a two-month investigation.

The teen, who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with one count of graffiti vandalism, which pertains to incidents between December 2010 and March 2011.

Additional charges are possible, police said.

The arrest wasn't connected tothe appeal police madeearlier this week to identify several prolific graffiti vandals whose tags have appeared on buildings in the city.

Those tagswere Cas, Akor, Gowr, Phere, and Bayse.
