Missing man might be crime victim, police say

Calgary police say a 24-year-old man who has been missing for more than two weeks could be the victim of foul play.

Calgary police say a 24-year-old man who has been missing for more than two weeks could be the victim of foul play.

Ryan Lane was last seen in the 5200-block of Country Hills Boulevard northwest in the early morning hours of Feb. 7.

The disappearance is completely out of character for the man, who has a four-year-old daughter, police said.

Lane was in the midstof a custody dispute concerning his daughter at the time he went missing. Shortly before he disappeared, Lane got a phone call from someone who said they could help with the situation, police said.

Investigators don't know if Lane went to meet that person before he disappeared.

Police are looking for two vehicles that were seen in the area on that morning.

One is a red 1996 Jeep Cherokee. The other is a red 1998 GMC Sierra pickup that was carrying a load of wood.

Lane has connections to rural areas including Irricana, Beiseker, Airdrie and Cochrane, police said.

He is five feet nine inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, and a tattoo on his right upper arm.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
