Star Wars movie marathon 'golden ticket' had Calgarians doing Darth Vader, Yoda impersonations

The force is strong with Graham White. The Star Wars super-fan's knowledge of the Twi'lek language scored him a seat at the 17-hour movie marathon in Calgary this week.

Winning super-fan will sit through 17 hours of cinema in a galaxy far, far away

For some, it is the perfect way to spend 17straight hours.For others, pure agony.

CBC Calgaryreceiveda lot of entries from people wanting to be our correspondent at theStar Wars movie marathon event happening Thursdayat the ScotiabankChinook Theatrein Calgary.

To win this coveted seat, we asked you to call the Calgary Eyeopener talkback line and give us your best impersonation of a Star Wars character. Here are some of the calls that came in:

In the end it wasGraham White who awoke the force.

White impressed us with his knowledge ofRyl the language of the alien speciesTwi'lek,from the planet Ryloth.

"I've got a Yoda licence plate," said White, who says heoften gets "May the force be with you"notes left under his windshield wipers.

White says he's always had a crush on PrincessLeia and oncehad a veryinteresting exchangewith actorCarrie Fisher.

"I was kind of in awe, getting her autograph and it just came out of my mouth and I said, 'I loveyou.' And she looked up and looked me right in eye and said, 'I know' and went right back to signing."

Which was,of course,is the famous exchange between Leia and Hans Solo in The Empire Strikes Back.
