Snow in Calgary creates slippery morning commute

Snow started to fall across Calgary Monday morning, covering much of the city, but it didn't stick around for long.

However, it did make a mess for the morning commute. Calgary police say they responded to 38 collisions before 11 a.m. six of which involved injuries.

The flurries ended Mondayafternoon, andEnvironment Canada says on its websitethatclouds and a low of 6 C arein the forecast for the evening.

However, there wasa snowfall warning in effect for these areas west of Calgary:

• Kananaskis I.D. near Highwood and Cataract Creek.
• Kananaskis I.D. near Kananaskis Village.
• M.D. of Bighorn near Canmore Exshaw and Ghost Lake.
• M.D. of Bighorn near Ghost River Wilderness.

Warm by the weekend?

Thursday is the only other day where precipitation is in the forecast, with a 60 per cent chance of rain or flurries.

Environment Canada is forecasting above-zero daytime temperatures all week long and, at this point, even a downright balmy weekend for November anyway.

Calgarians can expect plentyof sunand temperatures up to 15 C on Saturday and 10 C on Sunday, according to the national weather agency's longer-term outlook.
