Redcliff man shot by RCMP pulled BB gun on officers: ASIRT

A 33-year-old Redcliff man now faces charges after he was shot and injured by RCMP yesterday after pulling a BB gun on officers.

Man shot by officer still in critical condition in hospital

A Redcliff man shot by RCMPhas now been charged withpossessinga weapon and assault on a peaceofficer.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) says the man pulled a BB gun on officers early Monday morning prompting an officerto shoot him.

Investigators responded to the scene and seized ablack Smith and Wesson 177calibreBB gun.

The 33-year-old remains in hospital in critical-but-stable condition hospital, meanwhile acourt appearancehas yetto be determined.

The ASIRTinvestigation continues.

The team iscalled in to investigate incidents or complaints involving serious injury or death of any personthat may have resulted from the actions of a police officer.
