Nick Lush identified after human remains found by RCMP near Longview

The recovered human remains found in the Longview area on Sunday have been positively identified as Nick Lush.

RCMP positively identified the human remains found in the Longview area as that of Nick Lush, 32, was last seen on March 29. Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in the case. (RCMP)

Therecovered human remains found in the Longview area on Monday were positively identified today as that of Nick Lush.

TheRCMP announced the findings late this afternoon along withthe Calgary Medical Examiner's Office.

Two men, Cody Kenneth Bauer,KristopherGoerzenwere charged with first-degree murder on the weekend in connection with the disappearance of Lush, who went missing on March 29.

On Monday, the RCMPusing police dogsconducted searches in theLongview area, and the human remains were located.Identification of the remains could not be made at the time, and were transported to the CalgaryMedical Examiner's Office for identification.

Several hours after Lush, a father of three, disappearedthere was a report of an assault occurring atan underpass on the Trans-Canada Highway in the Jumping Pound area about 40 kilometres west of the city. Investigators believe Lush was the victim.

The victim and the assailants had disappeared by the time police arrived.

Two men were arrested by RCMP in Cranbrook, B.C., without incidenton Sunday after officers spotted a grey 2008 Dodge Charger thatpolice had been searching for inthe investigation.
