Motorcyclist caught doing deadly speed on rural Alberta highway

A woman on a motorcycle reached speeds of 224 km/h before being pulled over by RCMPon Highway 762 near Turner Valley on June 12.

A woman on a motorcycle reached speeds of 224 km/h before being pulled over by RCMPon Highway 762 near Turner Valley, June 12.

RCMP said an officer spotted the speeding motorcycle while patrolling therural highway that runs between Bragg Creek and Turner Valley, at about 5:40 p.m. It was was headed south on the highway,and the officer confirmed the speed of 224 km/hwith a radar unit. Thespeed limit on that single-lane highwayis 90 km/h.

The 26-year-old woman from Calgarywill appear in court next month in Turner Valley.
