Gandhi, Suzuki and Nenshi: Calgary kids dress up as inspirational adults

If you're still searching forideas for your child's Halloween costume, you shouldconsider taking a page fromthe Inspire Project YYC photo exhibit.

It features Calgary kids dressed up as inspirational historical figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Naheed Nenshi, Jane Goodall and David Suzuki.

"Full beard, moustache, wig. He looked amazing," said Leela Jacobs, the mastermind behind the mini-doppelgangers.

Jacobs, who is a fashion stylist, saysmore than 50 childrentook part in the project over the course of year. Theoldest was six years old and the youngest was six months.

"They've been really great to work with. They're brave. They come in, they go into hair and makeup, they go into costuming. They go under these big lights ... and they just do amazing things.... They make great faces."

The childrenlearned about the"hero" they were assigned before they came in for the shoot.

However, Jacobs says the one whoplayed AlbertEinstein refused to believe the physicist wasa real person.

"He was telling me as I was putting his eyebrows and moustache on... 'Nope... nobody would have eyebrows like this.'"

The photo collection will be revealedat a gala on Oct. 29 at Studio 122 in Calgary.

Money raised from ticket sales will go to two charities Little Warriors and Dare to Care.
