Calgary man already accused of 3 murders charged with 4th in 2016

Calgary police have laid a murder charge in a slaying three years ago against a man who is already accused of killing three other people.

Calgary police have laid a murder charge in a slaying three years ago against a man who is already accused of killing three other people.

Jimmy Truong, 27, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Louie Angelo Mojica, police said in a release on Friday.

Mojico was found fatally shot in the driver's seat of a white Dodge Charger outside a house in Panorama Hills in the city's northwest on Aug. 12, 2016.

Truong also faces first-degree murder chargesin relation to the September 2016 deaths of Cuc Lung, 34, and Quang Tran, 38, in Calgary, as well as the October 2016 killing of Phu Phan, 30, in Edmonton.

Lung and Tran were gunned down in a caroutside their home on Redstone Manor N.E. in Calgary.

Lung's five-year-old son was inside the vehiclebut not injured.

Tran died at the scene and Lung died after being taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

The following month, on Oct. 17, 2016, Phanwas shot and killed outside his home in the Edmonton community ofRapperswill.

Investigators believe all four homicides were targeted attacks carried out by an organized crime group.

When he was released on baillast November, Truong was ordered to stay away from a number of people, several of whom have ties to organized crime and to along-running gang war in Calgary that left at least 25 people dead.

Police believe additional suspects were involved in the murders.
