RCMP find missing woman's body in her car after crash on rural Alberta road

The body of a missing woman has been found in her car after she crashed on a rural road near Crossfield, Alta.

RCMPsaid they found the body of 34-year-old Heather Brownleesin her vehicle early Monday morning near the intersection ofRange Road 292 and Township Road 285.

Police said it appeared her vehicle had crashed down an embankmentand wasn't visible to passing traffic.

Brownleeswas last seen at her home in Crossfield on Jan. 31.

RCMP said a collision reconstructionist is aiding in the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Calgary.

Crossfield is about 50 kilometres north of Calgary.
