Brooks grain elevator fire sends 3 people to hospital

Brooks RCMP say a fire at a grain elevator on Wednesday sent three workers to hospital.

According to a release, RCMP responded at 1:34 p.m. to a fire at a grain elevator west of Brooks, near the JBS meat plant at Range Road 150 and Highway 1.

The Brooks Fire Department, EMSand Fortis also responded to the incident.

RCMP said three workers were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and askedthe public to avoid the area.

The fire departmenthas remainedon scenefor fire suppression efforts.

Alberta Occupational Health and Safety will be investigating the firewith Brooks RCMP.
