Hiraeth is a Welsh word with no direct English translation, but it refers to a sense of loss or nostalgia for something you've never actually had.

According to Denise MacKay and Peter Stone, the married couple behind the band 100 mile house, it sums up their own struggles in trying to start a family.

Hear their story as they join Katherine in studio to talk about the songs on their heartbreakingly lovely new album, Hiraeth.

Plus, we'll take you back tothe beginning of Calgary's JUNOfestlast spring, whenEdmonton's The Royal Foundry made the trip down the QE2 to play for CBC.

You'll hear ahigh-energy, 20-minute set that's packed with hooks and riffs, sung by the perfectly matched vocals of husband and wife teamBethany and JaredSalte. Here they are with a brand new single, Dreamers.
