Downtown crash sends SUV into pedestrians and building, 4 in hospital

Four people have been taken to hospital after a collision between two vehicles sent an SUV careening into pedestrians and a building.

Four people have been taken to hospital after a collision between two vehicles sent an SUV careening into pedestrians and a building.

The incident took place around 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Centre Street South.

A woman in her 70s, who was a pedestrian,was the most seriously injured.

She was taken to hospital with "multiple, serious potentially life-threatening injuries," according to Emergency Medical Services.

The other three people taken to hospital all suffered minor injuries. They include another pedestrian, a woman believed to be in her 30s;a woman believed to be in her 80s who was inside the building that was struck;andone of the drivers, a man believed to be in his 20s.
