Derek Saretzky's preliminary inquiry set for June

Ten days have been set aside this June for a preliminary inquiry for Derek Saretzky, who is accused of a double murder in Blairmore.

DerekSaretzky,whoischarged withfirst-degree murder in thedeaths ofHaileyDunbar-Blanchetteand her father, will be back in court in June for apreliminary inquiry.

The proceedings, set for 10 days betweenJune 20-30,will determine if there's enough evidence to take the matter to trial.

Saretzky appeared via CCTVina Lethbridge courtroom Friday morning after beingfoundfit to stand triallast November followinga psychiatric examination.

He was arrested in the Crowsnest Pass in southwestern Alberta after police found 27-year-old Terry Blanchette dead in his Blairmore home on Sept. 14.

A widespread Amber Alert was issued for his daughter,Hailey, whose remains were discovered in a rural area the next day.

Saretzkyis also charged with committing an indignity to the little girl's body.He remains in custody in Calgary.
