CTrain service in Calgary's downtown core stopped running Friday morning, with the city attributing the downtime to a power issue.

At 7:44 a.m. on Friday, Calgary Transit said both the Red Line and Blue Line were stalled, and crews were working to restore service.

In the meantime, shuttle buses have been put in place to replace the train service. The buses will run westbound along Sixth Avenue S.W. and eastbound along Ninth Avenue S.W.

As of 8:31a.m., shuttles were pickingup Calgarians from the Bridgeland, Sunnyside, Westbook and Erlton-Stampede stations.

It was -35 C in Calgary Friday morning.
