3 pedestrians injured when flatbed truck slides or rolls down hill in northeast Calgary, EMS says

Three pedestrians including a 2-year-old boy were injured when they were reportedlystruck by a large flatbed truck in northeast Calgary on Wednesday.

Three pedestrians including a 2-year-old boy were injured when they were reportedlystruck by a large flatbed truck in northeast Calgary on Wednesday.

EMS respondedto the 500 block of Fourth Avenue N.E. just after 11 a.m.after receivingcalls that alargeflatbed truck had either rolled or slid down a hill.

According to police, it strucka number of parked vehicles, injuringtwo adultsand one child.

The pedestrians were taken to hospital, police said, while EMS confirmed a woman in her20s sustainedserious andpotentially life-threatening injuries.

The child's injuries were not believed to be serious, while the third victim sustained minor injuries.

Roads in the area were expected to be closed for some time as officers investigated.
