Police search for man who stole cigarettes from 9 Calgary convenience stores

Calgary police are looking for a suspect who's believed to have stolen cigarettes from nine convenience stores.

UPDATE added July 25, 2018: Police arrested a 53-year-old man and charged him withthree counts of theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on Sept. 10.


Calgary police are looking for a suspect who's believed to have stolen cigarettes from nine convenience stores.

Police say that since June 14, nine stores have reported similar occurrences of a man jumping over the counter to grab packs of cigarettes from behind the till.

In one of the cases, the man reportedly tossed a Slurpee at the clerk before stealing the cigarettes.

CPS described the man as white, between five feet eight inches and five feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. He's clean shaven with short grey hair. He also appears to be missing teeth.
