Two killed in crash near Langdon, east of Calgary

A 19-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman are dead after a car and an SUV collided near Langdon, east of Calgary. The crash also left two others with serious injuries.

Highway 797 now open, after being closed for several hours

Stars and EMS were called to the scene at Highway 797 near Township Road 240 at 7:14 a.m. Saturday.

The male driver of the carwas declared dead at the scene, along with afemale passenger in the SUV. Both victims are from Langdon.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s who were also travelling in the SUV were taken to hospital in Calgary in serious but stable condition.

The woman was flown there by air ambulance.

Highway 797 was closed for several hourswhile police conductedtheir investigation.

Fridaycrash

Meanwhile, the Calgary Fire Department had to cut a woman out of a car after a rollover Friday nightat the intersection of Macleod Trail and Southland Drive.

The vehicle crashed into a light standard around 8:30 p.m.and ended up on its roof, trapping the person inside.

The driver was taken to hospital, and is in stable condition.
