Car used in hit and run found but driver eludes Calgary police

Calgary police say they have found the vehicle involved in a hit and run that sent a pedestrian to hospital last month, but they're still looking for the driver.

Calgary police say they have found the vehicle a2003 Silver Mitsubishi Eclipse involved in a hit and run that sent a pedestrian to hospital last month, but they're still looking for the driver.

The pedestrian was struck by a southbound carat the intersection of SecondStreet and 15th Avenue S.W. at about3 a.m. on April 22. The pedestrian was hit as he and another man were crossing the road.

The victim was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition. Police say the victim remains in hospital.

The collisionreconstruction unit continues to investigate the collision andask that anyone who was a witness or knows the offender to contact Const. Tapatha Curnew at the traffic office at 403-567-4000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Before locating the vehicle, police said onMonday it was believed to be a2003 Silver Mitsubishi Eclipse and that it was seen travelling southalong SecondStreet S.W. Police think it turned west onto 17th Avenue S.W. after hitting the pedestrian.
