Calgary Centre holds candidate debate

Three of the candidates running for the federal seat in Calgary Centre shared their views at a debate on Thursday night.

About 25 people turned out to hear from three of the five candidates running for the federal seat in Calgary Centre. (CBC)

A small group of constituents heard from three of the five candidates running to replaceformer Conservative MP Lee Richardson in the Calgary Centreriding on Thursday night.

All five candidates were invited, but only three were able to participate.

Conservative candidate Joan Crockatt and Green Party candidate Chris Turner said they were unable to attend because of scheduling conflicts.

Liberal candidate Harvey Locke said he has been encouraged by the response he has received in the traditional Tory riding.

"Halfway into the campaign I'm feeling a tremendous sense of excitement, I'm seeing Progressive Conservatives looking at our campaign for its values."

Dan Meades with the NDP and Tony Prashad from the Libertarian party also took part in the debate.

Constituents will vote on November 26.
