Calgary police urge residents of Tuscany to be cautious

Police issued a warning in northwest Calgary following several reports of a bear sighting on Thursday.

Residents of Tuscany have been advised to exercise caution. A small black bear, estimated by one witness to be about a year old, was first spotted in the early afternoon in the Tuscany Vista area and moving west toward 12 Mile Coulee Road.

"The last report was that it was heading west of the city towards the Cochrane area," Darcy Whiteside of Alberta Sustainable Resource Development told CBCNews.

"Our officers will continue to monitor the situation and make sure that there are no issues there."
