Man charged with murder in death of Anthony Fernandez

A 46-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the 2013 death of Anthony James Fernandez.

The 19-year-old was found dead inside a maroon 2009 Mazda 6in Bridgeland on Dec.27in the 1200block of Colgrove Avenue N.E.

Police said the carhad beenset on fire, destroying much of the evidence, but an autopsy determined he was killed in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Two suspects were taken into police custody in connection with the investigation, and theman charged who police say has no fixed address appeared in court Wednesday.

"The second individual was released from police custody early this morning, but remains a strong person of interest in the case," said police in a release."The investigation is ongoing, but police are not looking for any other suspects at this point."
