RCMP investigate human remains found near Eden Valley southwest of Calgary

Turner ValleyRCMP and investigators with the Mounties'major crimes unit are investigating human remains found in a forested area near Eden Valley.

It's unclear whether the remains are of a man or woman.Theywere found around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and an autopsy was completed Wednesday.

Police said the medical examiner is still working with an anthropologist to determine the gender of the deceased and the person'sapproximate time of death.

RCMPsaidfurther updates will be made public as moreinformation becomes available.

Eden Valley is a First Nations reserve located about 100 kilometres southwest of Calgary.
