Man dies after being struck by SUV in Airdrie

An elderly man is dead after he was struck by a SUVin Airdrie on Tuesday.

EMS responded to the scene at Mackenzie Way and Eighth Street S.W.around 11:10 a.m. and found the man with fatal injuries. It's believed he was in his 70s or 80s.

Another man on the other side of the crosswalk, who was not struck,was assessed but did not require hospital care.

The female driver remained at the scene, and is co-operating with theRCMPinvestigation.
