Shawarma at Aidas

"Their shawarma is out of this world," says Matheson. "Best baba ghanouj, too. The fatayer and kibby and grape leaves and falafel and just so good. And reasonably priced."

Ginger beef at Dragon Pearl

"Being an Inglewood guy, I have to give a shout out to Dragon Pearl. I love their ginger beef and the hot and sour soup." Invented in Calgary, ginger beef is a regional classic anda great way to enjoy Alberta beef.

Comfort food at Diner Deluxe

"You cant go wrong with Diner Deluxe for comfort food," says Matheson. Theyre known for their retro decor and classic brunch, but also offer up classic diner comfort dishes for lunch and dinner.

Beef satay soup at Quinyh

"Theres this Vietnamese place over by Sunridge Mall called Quinyh, which makes unbelievably great beef satay soup," says Matheson.

The bowls are huge and they have deliciously crispy spring rolls. It has been located beside the Sunridge Cinemas since 2003.

Crossroads Farmers Market

"We get all our meat and veggies from the Crossroads Market and I love the chicken from Reginas," says Matheson.

Reginas Fine Meats has been selling free range, grain-fed chickens (as well as beef and pork) since 1984.
