4-year-old boy killed in crash east of Lethbridge

A four-year-old boy died Wednesday afternoon when the car he was riding in was broadsided by a Jeep east of Lethbridge.

A four-year-old boy died Wednesday afternoon when the car he was riding in was broadsided by a Jeep.

A Buick sedan was travelling north on Range Road 211 when it went through a stop sign at Township Road 84, Coaldale RCMP said in a release.

The Buickwas stuck on the passenger side and a four-year-old boy sitting in the back seat sustained serious injuries.He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver, another child, and the driver of the Jeepwere taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police say a number of other drivers stopped to help at the crash scene.

The collision is under investigation.
