Where to take the family to celebrate Easter in Vancouver

Everyone loves VanDusenGarden's "a-mazing" easter egg hunt but the event is already sold out for 2016. Instead, try yourlocal community centre.

Renfrew Park, Kerrisdale and Dunbar are just threecommunity centres who are running "Easter Eggstravaganzas".

Another favourite is the Stanley Park train which will be open rain or shine until March 28. Around Easter, the park will have face painting and other arts and crafts available in addition to an egg hunt.

Surrey

The Surrey Museum is hosting Easter Fair with local rescue animals. The festivities includeanegg scavenger hunt, storytelling and appearances by the Easter bunny himself. Admission is by donation.

Richmond

For an Easter egg hunt with a touch of elegance, the London Heritage Farm is hosting tea in its Tea Room. Parents will also find classic goodies likes scones to go with their Easter eggs tart. The eventruns all weekend long.

If you're longing for crisp winter days, take the kids to the Richmond Olympic Oval for an Easter skate. There will be crafts and prizes to be had.

Burnaby

Little ones with doting grandparents might want to tryBonsor 55+ Centre's Easter egg hunt. It will only cost$1.86 per child and welcomes toddlers and kids up to 10 years old.The only requirement though, you must be accompanied by a grandparent.

Another option is Hillsview Preschool's 10th annualeaster egg hunt. All proceeds from the event go to supporting the school.

Tri-Cities

The Easter Arts Carnival at Leigh Square in Port Coquitlam is always a sell-out. Buy your tickets early so your kids can take part in theiregg hunt, enjoy theatre performances and carnival treats.
