Vancouver's controversial Trump Tower has unveiled its nameplate just days before the inauguration of building's namesake Donald Trump as president of the United States.

The West Georgia Street building, which includes a hotel and 214 luxury condominiums, was originally set to open last summer, but that opening was delayed until the fall, and then again until early 2017.

The building is owned by the Holborn Group, who have licensed the right to use the Trump name from the hotel-magnate-turned-president-elect.

The letters spelling out the building's name have been covered with tarps for months and the hotel is now taking reservations for overnight stays beginning Jan. 25.

The building has become a focal point for anti-Trump protests in recent months, both online and in real life.
