Vancouver police say they are investigating after a driver was hurt after being shot at with what may have been a BB gunon Tuesday evening.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m. PTnear West 4th Avenue and Balaclava Street in the city's Kitsilano neighbourhood, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).

Investigators say the driver of a car-share vehicle was hurt after the driver-side window was hit by a "projectile" possibly from a BB gun that was fired from another vehicle.

The incident unfolded after a "minor interaction" between the drivers of the two vehicles, police told CBCNews in a statement.

The driver of the car-share vehicle received medical attention at the scene, VPD Sgt. Steve Addison said.

The person who fired the projectile drove away. Police have not yet been able to identify them, but say they have launched an investigation and have been canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and video footage.
