Two people in hospital after shooting in Kamloops, B.C.

B.C. Emergency Health Services responded to reports of a shooting in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood of the Interior city on Friday afternoon.

Royal Inland Hospital under restricted access for security reasons

Two people have been hospitalized after a reported shooting in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood of Kamloops, B.C.

B.C. Emergency Health Services spokesperson Shannon Miller said paramedics received a call about a shooting just before 4p.m. PT on Friday. According to Miller,paramedics transported one person in serious condition and one person in critical condition to hospital.

According to KamloopsRCMP, the incident happened in the 1900 block of Tranquille Roadin city located about 250 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.

Karl Hardt, spokesperson for the Interior Health Authority, saidRoyal Inland Hospital in Kamloops is currently under restricted access. Hardtsaid extra security measures are in place Friday evening at the hospital,but services are still open to the public.

KamloopsRCMPspokesperson Cpl.JodiShelkie did not confirm whether the shooting is related to thearmed robbery andkidnapping of a woman in Kamloopsearlier this week.
