Targeted Surrey shooting leaves man dead

An unidentified man has died following a shooting in an apartment building in the Whalley neighbourhood of Surrey on Monday night.

An unidentified man has died following a shooting in an apartment building in the Whalley neighbourhood of Surrey on Monday night.

The shooting has all the signs of a targeted attack, Integrated Homicide Investigation Team spokesman Corp. Dale Carr saidTuesday morning.

The man's body was found in the apartment at 13300-105A Ave., near 134th St., by the RCMP shortly after 9:15 p.m. PT.

Police took several men into custody for allegedly obstructing the investigation, but Carr that it was not clear if they were involved in the incident.

It appeared the man was shot, but investigators were waiting for a coroner to determine the exact cause of death, he said.
