17-year-old expected to survive Surrey shooting

A 17-year-old is expected to survive after he suffered a gunshot wound to his leg Tuesday night, according to Surrey RCMP.

A 17-year-old is expected to surviveafter he suffered a gunshot wound to his legTuesday night, according toSurreyRCMP.

The shooting happened a little before 9 p.m. outside Surrey's Prince Charles Elementary School,in the 12400-block of 100 Avenue.

Police said their early investigation found the teen was approached by two Caucasian males, aged between 17 and22yearsold, and one of the two fired a shot at the 17-year-old victim.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition, and his injuries are considered non-life-threatening, according to Surrey RCMP.

Both suspects are described as 178 cm tall (5'10") andwearing dark clothes. They were covering their faces with scarves.
