Surrey drive-by shooting riddles house with bullets

RCMP in Surrey are investigating to see if there are links between a violent drive-by shooting last night and a series of shootings last week.

No one hurt in early morning shooting, but second time in a week home has been targeted

RCMP in Surrey are investigating a drive-by shooting early which left a home riddle with bullets but fortunately no one injured.

When police were called to 126A Street and 95 Avenue around 2:30 a.m. PT theyfound bullet holes in a residence and shell casings nearby.

Police say there were three people in the house at the time of the shootings but no one was hurt.

They say this is the second time this residence has been targeted.

RCMP are investigating whether this incident is related to a series of shootings in Surrey last week, which have officers looking for five men.

Connection to other shootings investigated

The first shooting in the series occurred early in themorning of Tuesday Mar. 10when a 20-year-old man was dropped off at a Surrey hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. He was treated and released, but police were unable to determine the location where he wasshot.

Later that day, police found a car around 5:50 p.m. PT that RCMP said " bore the evidence of being involved in a shooting."

An hour later, Surrey RCMP were called to a shooting near 127th Street and 78 Avenue where another 20-year-old had been injured.

Later that night around 11 p.m. witnesses reported hearing gunshots near 128th Street and 76th Avenue.

When police arrived on the scene everyone involved was gone, but they were told by witnesses that four dark coloured vehicles were seen leavingthe area at a high rate of speed immediately after residents reported hearing the soundof gunshots

The following day there was a fourth shooting around 1:30 p.m. PT.

Witnesses reported seeing a white SUV chasing a Black Acura at a high speed in the area of 132nd Street and 80th Avenue, and then shooting at the occupants of the black car.No victim was located, but police recovered shell casings from the scene.

Police say there have also been two more unrelated shootings.

They say they are now investigating the latest drive-by shooting at 126A Street and 95 Avenue for possible connections to any of the others in the series.
