Rogers Arena project part of global trend

A plan to build a new office tower in downtown Vancouver has taken an interesting turn, with the proposal now calling for several buildings and hundreds of apartments to fill the site next to Rogers Arena.

The project is being proposed by Aquilini Development, part of the family-run business empire that includes Rogers Arena and the Vancouver Canucks.

The vision now includes office space spread among three towers containing almost 500 apartments, which might be rentals or condos.

As the CBCs Kirk Williams reports,it's part of a global trend to mix entertainment and housing.
