Snowbirds dazzle in flight over downtown Vancouver

Even on a travelling day, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds know how to put on a show.

The aerobatics squadron dazzled people in downtown Vancouver as it flew in formation enroute to anupcoming gig at the Abbotsford International Airshow.

Captain JayHowlettfrom the Royal Canadian Air Forcespecial events department, said his colleagues were making their way from another airshow inNanaimo, B.C.

"They're always on display," he said about their penchant for performance.

If air traffic controland travelroutes allow for it, he says the Snowbirds try to make it special for people who may be watching, particularly when they fly over urban areas.

Vancouverites and tourists alike eagerly snapped photos and videos of the squadron as it streaked through blue skies.

The Snowbirds are scheduled to perform at the Abbotsford International Airshowfrom Friday until Sunday this week.
