The Pattullo Bridge, the busiest crossing in B.C.'s Lower Mainland, is scheduled toreopenMonday after four months of deck work and other repairs.

Work on the bridgebegan onApr.29, focussing on deck repairs and and repaving.

Between May 2 andAug. 26, there were a series of overnight closures of the crossing to allow work to get done.

On most days, one lane was kept open on the bridge to allow trucks and essential traffic to pass through, but the work caused traffic jams and ongoing congestion.

The bridge wasentirely closed this past weekend,Aug. 26-29.

At 5 a.m. PT on Monday, all four lanes are scheduled to reopen.

The bridge is slated for replacement in five toseven years, according to TransLink.Until then, this work was necessary to keep the crossing safe and passable.
