North Vancouver fire damages roof of housing complex

A fire in a housing complex at Hamber Place and Mount Seymour Road has damaged the roof of a housing complex, forcing several people out of their homes on Thursday evening.

Several residents in the area tweeted it was theRiverwoods Housing Co-operative that was on fire. A reception centre for the evacuees has been set up at the Parkgate community centre, officials say.

At its height, the fire could be seen from across Burrard Inlet in Vancouver.
