Man dies after kayaking incident in Deep Cove, North Vancouver

A man is dead following a kayaking incident in North Vancouver's Deep Cove neighbourhood on Saturday, according to police.

Police say the man was brought to shore but was in medical distress and died at the scene

A man is dead following a kayaking incident in North Vancouver's Deep Cove neighbourhood on Saturday, according to police.

North Vancouver RCMP says it was alerted to a sudden death around 5:45 p.m. PT.

Const. Mansoor Sahak says police received reports thatan hour earlier two kayakers fell into the water when their kayak flipped.

Nearby kayakers were able to rescue them and bring them to shore, he says.

However,Sahak says one man was in medical distress and died at thescene.

The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the cause of death.

Meanwhile, a search continues for two kayakers who went missing in waters near Sidney, B.C., about 25 kilometres north of Victoria, on Saturday.
