Stolen logging truck recovered after chase near Quesnel, B.C.

The suspect fled on a stolen motorcycle in a chase that involved police dogs and air patrol, RCMP say.

Quesnel RCMP have arrested a 29-year-old suspected of stealing a logging truck worth $65,000.

The truck was taken from a local business at 2:40 a.m. Nov. 13, police say, along with a trailer. which was later abandoned.

At around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 14, the truck was spotted on Highway 97 south of town. When police arrived, the suspect tried to escape on a stolen motorcycle.

A chase involving air patrols and police dogs followed, and the fleeing man was arrested.

Police say he is scheduled to appear before a judge Thursday afternoon.
