Man found dead in rural area of Abbotsford identified

A man found dead in a rural area of Abbotsford, B.C. has been identified by homicide investigators.

The body of Joseph Kellington, 24, was found in the 4500 block of Ross Road just after5 p.m. on Saturday. The Mission resident had beenreported missing on Jan. 31.

He was last seen in theAbbotsfordareatwo days before that, according to a statement.

Police said Kellington was known to police and his death appears to be a targeted incident. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said thekillinghasn't been linked to gang violence.

Cpl. Meghan Foster said anyone who saw or spoke with Kellingtonafter Jan. 29 should call1-877-551-4448or Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
