IHIT investigating suspicious death in Abbotsford

A deceased man's body was found in a rural area of Abbotsford Friday night. Police say it appears to be a targeted incident.

Homicide investigators are looking into a suspicious death in a rural area of Abbotsford.

Sgt. Judy Bird with Abbotsford Police said a citizen discovered a man'sbody on a property in the 4500-block of Ross Road around 5 p.m. PT Friday.

Bird said the death is suspicious and appears to be a targeted incident. The name of the victim has not been released.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now taking over the case.

This death comes just a day after IHIT was called to investigate a suspicious death in Richmond. Police have not said whether the two are related.
