IHIT investigating 24th Surrey murder this year

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over another investigation into a body found in Surrey, in what could be the city's 24th homicide of the year.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over another investigation into a body found in Surrey, in what could be the city's24thhomicide of the year.

The body was discovered late Tuesday morning in the area of 124 Street and 102 Avenue in Whalley, near train tracks at the bottom of a hill.

Several people who live nearby report hearing what appeared to be gunshots late last night.

Sgt.Bari Emam of IHIT said details such as the victims age or gender are not known at this time.

"IHIT is treating this as a suspicious death case at this time, until further examination of the scene is completed."
