Man dead after shooting in Chilliwack

A man is dead in Chilliwack, B.C., from what police are calling a targeted shooting justbefore 9 a.m. PT Friday near the Kal Tire on Progress Way.

Police found a man with life-threatening injures. Hewas sent to hospital where he died.

"The investigation is fluid and there are many moving parts," Chilliwack RCMP Cpl. Mike Rail told reporters Friday afternoon.

"Of course, when an incident like this happens during the day in a public place, it is very, very concerning."

The scene was behind yellow police tape while the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and Chilliwack RCMP gathered evidence in the 43000 block of Progress Way.

The victim has not been identified as his next of kin have yet to be informed.
