High-risk offender James Burrows plans to live in Vancouver

A high-risk offender convicted of sexually assaulting elderly women has been released from custody and plans to live in Vancouver, the Vancouver police said Thursday in a news release.

Police say Burrows, 56, was convicted of four sexual assaults against women between the ages of 72 and 93

A high-risk offender convicted of sexually assaultingelderly women has been released from custody and plans to live in Vancouver, the Vancouver police said Thursday in a news release.

James Burrows, 56, was convicted offour sexual assaults against womenbetween the ages of 72 and 93. Police say hehas leftprison on a statutory release.

The VPD says the Correctional Service of Canada has assessed Burrows as being at a "high risk for violent, sexual reoffending." The police statement says he poses a particular risk to older women.

Burrows is described as black, six feet one inch, 260 poundswith black hair and brown eyes.

His release includes the following conditions:

  • Not to consume or possessalcohol or illegal drugs.
  • Must immediately reportanyattempts to initiate any type of relationship with a woman to his parole officer.
  • Not to purchaseor accesspornography.
