Fantastic forecast ahead for Vancouver

Good news for those who can't wait to get their spring on high pressure is back and that means a great forecast.

Blue skies will dominate much of the province starting Thursday as a ridge of high pressure builds in across B.C. The sinking air will keep the clouds outand the clockwise flow around the system will help to pump in mild Pacific air.

Afternoon highs on Thursday will get up to 18 C for YVR but temperatures inland will get closer to 25 C. That will be the story through Friday and into the weekend.

The contrast across the country couldn'tbe more stark though. As much of Western Canada enjoys the warm side of the jet stream, the Eastern half is being visited by the Polar Vortex again.

Major cities like Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal have another week of snow and freezing temperatures to contend with.

Looks like it all begins to balance out by mid-week next week.
