5.2 magnitude earthquake detected off Vancouver Island

Earthquake Canada says the earthquake was not felt, and no tsunami is expected.

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the west coast ofVancouver Island, near Port Hardy, Friday around 3:38 p.m. PT.

Earthquake Canadasays the earthquake was not felt, and no tsunami wasexpected.

The shaker was centred 205 kilometres west-southwest of Port Hardy at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There were no reports of damage and none are expected.
