Driver pleads guilty in death of flagger

A driver has entered a guilty plea in connection with the 2010 death of flagger Donald Cain in Mission, B.C.

Thor Shay, 59, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attentionin court in Abbotsford on Monday morning. He was fined $1,500 and given a one-year driving suspension.

Cain, 49,was working at a construction site near Oliver Street and Lougheed Highway onJuly 15, 2010,whenhe wasstruck and dragged several metres.

The father of two from Langley was declared dead on arrival at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
