Cyclist killed in North Vancouver car crash

A 41-year-old Vancouver cyclist has died after being hit by a car on East Keith Road in North Vancouver.

A 41-year-old Vancouver cyclist has died after being hit by a car on East Keith Road in North Vancouver.

The collision happened around5:45 p.m. Sunday.

North Vancouver RCMPStaff Sgt. Dan Guilfoyle said the car and male cyclist were travelling in opposite directions on Keith Road and collided when the car made a left hand turn onto ShavingtonStreet.

Thecyclistdied at the scene.

"We will continue to gather statements from any witnesses," saidGuilfoyle.

"We're going to inspect the vehicle and conduct a further investigation from the photos and measurements that were taken at the scene."

Speed and alcohol are not being considered as a factor. Guilfoyle says the male driver is cooperating with the investigation.
