CBC wins 3 Jack Webster awards for B.C. reporting

CBC reporters and producers in B.C. picked up three awards at the annual Jack Webster Awards on Thursday night. The awards recognize the best journalism in the province each year.

CBC reporters and producers in B.C. picked up three awards at the annual Jack Webster Awards on Thursday night.

The award for Best Feature Story in Radio went to the Early Edition's Shiral Tobin, Rick Cluff, and Lee Rosevere for their seriesSecurity 9/11: The New Normal, which looked at changes to airport security since 9/11.

The award for Best News Reporting in Television award went to Natalie Clancy and Manjula Dufresne forBroken Mounties, an investigation into sexual harassment within the RCMP.

And the award for Best News Reporting in Radio went to Nelson reporter Bob Keating for Finding Kienan, his coverage of the abductionand return of three-year old Kienan Hebert in Sparwood B.C.

CBC's B.C. news director Wayne Williams said the awardsrecognizedthelocal newsroom'scommitment to breaking original news in British Columbia.
