Basi gets ankle bracelet for breaching conditions

Disgraced former B.C. ministerial aid Dave Basi has been ordered to wear an electronic ankle bracelet for six months, after admitting to breaking the conditions of his sentence.

Disgraced former B.C. ministerial aid Dave Basi has been ordered to wear an electronic ankle bracelet for six months, after admitting to breaking the conditions of his sentence.

Basi admitted in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver on Monday that he violated the restrictions on his house arrest when left his home to give a TV interview.

In September, the former B.C. Liberal aide was given a conditional sentence and put on house arrest for two years less a day, after pleading guilty to breach of trust and accepting a benefit during the BC Rail bidding process.

Under the terms of his sentence Basi, who hashomes inVancouver and Victoria,is allowed to go out for various activities such asto work,exercise and grocery shop.
